What is Whiplash
The muscle, tendons, ligaments and joints of the neck or low back go through a range of motion during an impact that cause damage.
The severity of the pain is dependant on the amount of damage that was sustained during the impact. The structures of the neck when injured can cause pain, dizziness, and headaches. The low back can cause pain into the low back, hips, and leg.
Whiplash Treatment
Typical Treatment: Stretching, strengthening, ice/heat, muscle stim and musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound.
- How we handle Whiplash Treatment
- Breaking up muscle tightness/spasms
- Soft tissue techniques to restore range of motion and reduce pain
- If these injuries are not treated shortly after the incident, the neck (and other injured sites) can lose range of motion and become chronic
